About Us
The DBT Center of San Diego (DBTCSD) began in 2005. DBTCSD provides skills training and individual DBT for adult and adolescent patients, and provides supervision, consultation, and workshops for mental health professionals. Click here for a full description of DBT.

Milton Brown, Ph.D.
Dr. Brown received intensive DBT training as a student of Marsha Linehan for 10 years and is currently an associate professor at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, where he trains graduate students in cognitive behavioral therapies, including DBT. He completed his clinical internship at the Veteran Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, where he was trained at the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Brown provides DBT workshops for mental health professionals across the United States.

Dr. Gutierrez received intensive training in DBT at the DBT Programs at Harbor UCLA Medical Center and Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital. She also received intensive training in evidence-based treatments for severe depression, anxiety disorders, and other problems related to emotion dysregulation. She has experience treating children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and their families. Dr. Gutierrez is an adjunct professor in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at the University of San Diego, and continues to hold a psychologist position at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital.

Ms. Dahlin graduated with Honors (B.A.) from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She earned a Master’s degree in Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Ms. Dahlin has experience in treating adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety disorders, substance use, psychosis, and personality disorders. She has worked as a therapist in a variety of settings including Vista Balboa Crisis Center and Rady's Children's Hospital and has worked as a rape crisis counselor. Her research is in the area of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Leslie Karwoski Anderson, Ph.D.
Dr. Anderson received intensive training in DBT from Marsha Linehan and worked at the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Center of Seattle 2007-2010. She is also an expert in evidence-based treatments for mood disorders, eating disorders, and other problems related to emotion dysregulation. She has experience with treating adults, adolescents, and their families. She has a clinical faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego. She has co-authored book chapters and articles on eating disorders.

| Jill Stoddard, Ph.D.
Dr. Stoddard received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Boston University where she worked at the highly regarded Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. Under the mentorship of Dr. David Barlow, she received extensive training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders. Dr. Stoddard is currently the Director of the Center for Stress and Anxiety Management and she is also an assistant professor at Alliant International University. Dr. Stoddard specializes in evidence-based treatments for panic disorder, agoraphobia, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and chronic pain, and has authored articles on many of these topics. |
